Mitch Prinstein is the John Van Seters Distinguished Professor in the Clinical Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research examines interpersonal-cognitive models of adolescent depression and self-injury, and peer influence on adolescent health risk behaviors. He maintains a strong commitment to professional development in psychology.
His work integrates developmental psychopathology, neuroscience, and genomics to understand suicidal behavior during adolescent transitions. Dr. Prinstein's research has been presented internationally, including at the UBC Psychology Department Colloquium.
