Misty Campbell

Misty Campbell is an Associate Professor of Practice in Criminal Justice at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus. A certified SHRM-CP professional with an M.S. in Criminal Justice & Criminology, her career began supporting victims of violent crime at community, county, and state levels. Her early work involved direct service for intimate partner/sexual violence survivors and developing rural community response teams.

Research Focus: Her research examines practitioner experiences, trauma impacts on individuals/communities, and evidence-based frameworks for violence prevention. She later expanded her work to court, correctional, medical, and educational systems, developing training programs for diverse victim populations.
