Miryoung Lee

Miryoung Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Brownsville, TX. Her research focuses on epigenetic biomarkers, environmental risk factors, and social determinants of health related to cardiometabolic diseases in children and adults. She investigates longitudinal associations between telomere length/telomerase activity, cellular senescence biomarkers, and obesity/diabetes/cardiovascular disease risks among non-Hispanic whites and Mexican Americans.

She is affiliated with the Hispanic Health Research Center and contributes to research on cardiovascular and chronic diseases, genetics, maternal/child health, and social determinants of health. Her work addresses health disparities through epidemiological and biostatistical approaches.
