Prof. Mirosław Filiciak is a Professor at SWPS University, serving as Director of the Institute of Humanities and Head of the Department of Culture and Media at the Faculty of Humanities in Warsaw. His research focuses on digital media’s impact on cultural participation, with expertise in media practices, media archaeology, and cultural studies. He leads the Center for Cultural Technology Research and collaborates with institutions like the Copernicus Science Centre and international consortia such as COST GRADE (exploring digital Europe’s grassroots origins).
He has authored influential books, including Take Mr. Rambo! A Social History of Video Recorders in Poland (2022), and co-created projects like Kultura 2.0 and Poland’s first Medialab.
