About
Prof. Dr. Mirko Cinchetti is a faculty member at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Physics, Technical University of Dortmund. He leads a research group focused on the ultrafast optical manipulation of spin and charge excitations in two-dimensional electronic systems using femtosecond spectroscopic techniques.
His research interests include condensed matter physics, spintronics, and quantum materials. The group employs advanced experimental methods such as magneto-optical spectroscopy and spin-resolved ARPES (angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy), utilizing pulsed femtosecond radiation across a wide photon energy range from 0.1 eV to 70 eV, spanning from infrared to extreme ultraviolet.
The primary material systems under investigation are spin-textured and magnetically ordered 2D systems, including 2D semiconductors, antiferromagnets, topological insulators, quantum wells, and hybrid molecular interfaces with non-trivial spin properties (molecular spin interfaces).
