Miriam Rahali is a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on children and media, advertising, consumer behavior, digital literacy, and critical race theory. She holds an undergraduate degree from Columbia University, two Master's degrees, and a PhD from LSE. Dr. Rahali has taught at Columbia, Cambridge, and LSE, specializing in media studies, research methods, and sociology. She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and has contributed to influential projects such as the DCMS Parliamentary Inquiry on Influencer Culture and the ITU Global Connectivity Report.
Her research explores how digital engagement impacts adolescents with mental disorders, challenges global conceptualizations of digital societies, and analyzes media representation through Critical Race Theory. She has developed educational programs addressing social stigma with UNICEF and served as an educator in Harlem, NY, through Teach for America. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes intersectionality, feminist praxis, and inclusive learning.
