Miriam McBreen

Miriam McBreen is a Lecturer in Psychology at the Institute of Education (IOE), part of University College London's Faculty of Education and Society. She holds leadership roles as Director of the Centre for Language, Literacy and Numeracy: Research & Practice and Deputy Director of UCL’s Centre for Inclusive Education. She earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from McGill University.

Her research focuses on reading motivation's role in reading development and pedagogical strategies to support pupils with reading difficulties. Key areas include special education, developmental psychology, and inclusive education practices.

Multilingual capabilities include English (full proficiency), French (full proficiency), and Danish (read/speak). Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
