Miranda Klaver

Prof. dr. Miranda Klaver is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Specializing in the Anthropology of Religion, her research integrates empirical fieldwork with theological analysis focusing on evangelical and Pentecostal communities globally. She has held leadership roles in institutions like the Netherlands Institute for Evangelical and Reformation Theology and serves on multiple nonprofit boards.

Research Interests center on transnational Pentecostalism, megachurch dynamics, media's role in religious practice, and gender theology. Key themes include worship aesthetics, crisis-driven religious adaptation, and the intersection of faith with contemporary social issues.
