Minna Shkul is a Senior Lecturer in Religion, Gender, and Society at the University of Sheffield’s School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities. She oversees Philosophy, Religion, and Ethics programmes, including the MA pathway. Previously, she worked in HR, academic management, and held research positions at the Finnish Academy (University of Helsinki). Her research focuses on intersectional identities, global perspectives on religion, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, secularism, and multireligious hybridity. She is committed to inclusive pedagogy, recognized with multiple teaching awards.

Her teaching includes modules on LGBTQ+ studies, Religion in Britain, Ethnography and Lived Religion, and Feminist and Queer Studies in Religion. She also supervises dissertations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Shkul actively contributes to academic communities, previously co-chairing the British New Testament Society’s Social World seminar and participating in Finnish Academy research projects on religion, social identity, and prejudice.
