Minhee Choi

Minhee Choi, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication, specializing in Public Relations & Strategic Communication. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina and previously taught at Virginia Commonwealth University. Originally from South Korea, Dr. Choi earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Sogang University before working in international nonprofit public relations with organizations like PETA and the Korea University Business School.

Her research focuses on advocacy communication strategies for public health issues, including gun violence prevention, pandemic response, and nonprofit messaging effectiveness. She has received awards from the International Communications Association (ICA) and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) for her work. Dr. Choi is dedicated to mentoring first-generation students, reflecting her personal background as a first-generation scholar.

Her recent studies examine advocacy messaging in social media, corporate social advocacy, and the intersection of sports and corporate responsibility. She explores how cultural contexts, such as Korean baseball culture, influence communication practices.
