Mindy Peden is Associate Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at John Carroll University. She holds an MA and PhD from Cornell University and a BA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Her research centers on political thought, with emphasis on Marxist theory, social justice, and the political economy of taxation.

She has received multiple grants including the Diversity Course Development Grant (2009) and Engaging the Global Community Grant (2015). Beyond academia, she is a founding organizer of Larchmere Porch Fest, an annual Cleveland music festival.
