Milena Injac is a full-time Professor of Orchestra at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš. She holds a DMA in Conducting from the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade (1992–2015), with advanced training at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. Her career spans prestigious roles as conductor of the Niš Symphony Orchestra, principal guest conductor in El Salvador and Uruguay, and masterclass leader at the Academia Diesis. She has collaborated with orchestras across Europe, Latin America, and Asia, including the Belgrade Philharmonic, Montevideo National Symphony, and the Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Hungary).
Key artistic achievements include conducting world premieres of contemporary works such as Enriko Koko's opera 'Alice in Nosferatu' in Rome (2004), directing the Niš Symphony Orchestra in international festivals like Spain's Murcia Festival (2010), and leading orchestral performances in Moscow's Evroorkestar Festival (2012). She has recorded multiple CDs and DVDs of orchestral and vocal works, including live recordings in Spain and Serbia.
In academic leadership, she revived opera productions at Niš Theater through projects like Pergolesi's 'La Serva Padrona' and has held leadership roles in educational initiatives such as the Erasmus Mundus project in Spain (2014). Her work combines classical repertoire interpretation with innovative contemporary programming, earning recognition through awards including the Golden Badge (2004) and multiple festival prizes for orchestral and choral performances.
