Mila Bammens

Mila Bammens is a Researcher and Education Officer at the Humanities Faculty of Utrecht University, affiliated with the TerInfo project. Her work focuses on developing historical teaching materials, conducting research, delivering guest lectures, and supporting educators in discussing terrorism, political violence, and societal disruptions in classrooms. She also coordinates research initiatives and contributes to educational development and policy.

Her research expertise spans Terrorism and Political Violence, Democracy and Citizenship, and Youth Dynamics. She specializes in creating educational frameworks to address sensitive topics like war, terrorism, and civil unrest. Her recent publications focus on classroom strategies for discussing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Ukraine war, and the impact of terrorism on education.

Scientific awards include the 2023 Brouwer Trust Award, 2021 Jan Brouwer Thesis Prize, and 2020 SPPH Master Thesis Prize.
