Mikhail Kopelman is a Professor of Violin at the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester) since 2002. A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory under Maya Glezarova and Yuri Yankelevich, he gained international acclaim as first violinist of the Borodin String Quartet (1976-1996) and Tokyo String Quartet (1996-2002), co-founding the Kopelman Quartet in 2002.
