Mike Tueller

Mike Tueller is a Professor of Classics at Arizona State University's School of International Letters and Cultures. He holds affiliations with the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics. His academic journey includes a B.A. (1992) and Ph.D. (2003) in Classical Philology from Harvard University, followed by teaching at Brigham Young University before joining ASU in 2008.

His research focuses on the Hellenistic period (post-Alexander to pre-Augustan eras), particularly the evolution of epigram poetry. He examines how Hellenistic writers navigated cultural displacement through erudite and cosmopolitan literary expressions. Current projects include revising the Greek Anthology for the Loeb Classical Library.

Teaching emphasizes ancient Greek language and literature, with courses like 'Rise & Fall of Ancient Athens' and 'Ancient Greek Religion.' His service includes serving as Associate Director for Administration in the School of International Letters & Cultures (2016–2017).
