Mike Laufenberg

Mike Laufenberg is a Professor of Sociology with a specialisation in gender and sexuality at the Department of Social Work, Fulda University of Applied Sciences, since 2024. His research focuses on:

• Changes in the welfare state, labor, and family dynamics
• Urban and rural poverty structures
• Gender, sexuality, and diversity studies
• Care systems and social reproduction
• Intersectionality and anti-discrimination frameworks
• Civil society and social movement analysis

He is affiliated with professional networks including the German Sociological Association (DGS) and serves on the research advisory board of the Centre for Gender Studies Cologne (GeStiK).
