Mike Hyslop

Mike Hyslop is a Teaching Professor at the Michigan Technological University, affiliated with the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science. Hyslop's research emphasizes the utility of spatial tools in managing complex environmental data and solving resource use challenges. He investigates spatial trends of emerald ash borer populations in Michigan and has previously applied GIS to National Parks in the Great Lakes region, water supply protection, watershed analysis, wildlife habitat delineation, and modeling forest resources and invasive species. His projects also extend to analyzing demographics of Michigan Tech students and alumni through geospatial mapping.

Notable trends in his publications include interdisciplinary applications of GIS in ecological studies, invasive species management, and environmental policy formulation.
