Mignette Garvida

Mignette Garvida, PhD, is a Lecturer, Spanish Language Coordinator, and Spanish Placement Test Coordinator in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD from the Philippines (Diliman) and a BA/MeD from Toronto. Her expertise spans comparative studies, Spanish influence on Philippine Hispanic literature, 19th-century Peninsular prose, and the role of women in Hispanic literature.

Dr. Garvida specializes in second language acquisition and teaching methodologies, contributing to language pedagogy through her coordinated programs. Her research bridges historical literary analysis with contemporary educational practices.
