Mickaelle Cedergren is a Professor in French Literature at the Department of Romance Studies and Classics, Stockholm University. Her research focuses on transcultural literary studies, translation, circulation, and reception of Francophone literature in Nordic contexts, and literary multilingualism. She co-edits the Nordic Journal of Francophone Studies and leads international collaborations on cultural transfers between France and Sweden.
Current projects include analyzing self-translation processes in Marika Stiernstedt’s work and a Franco-Nordic collaboration on women’s writing and translation (2025-2026). Past projects covered literary mediation in the Maghreb, cultural transfers between France and Sweden, and spiritualist naturalism in European literature. She has published monographs and co-edited journals on Francophone literatures and Nordic representations.
She is affiliated with research groups like Multilinguisme, Traduction, Création at ITEM (CNRS, ENS Paris) and has held visiting positions in Strasbourg. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate levels in French literature, translation theory, and transcultural studies.
