Michelle van Mulken is a Junior Assistant Professor (mapped to Assistant Professor) at the Environmental Sciences department within the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University. She holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences (2013-2017) from Utrecht University and an MSc in Aquaculture and Marine Resources Management (2019-2022) from Wageningen University.
Her research interests focus on sustainability, biodiversity, nature conservation, and energy transition. She is also involved in teaching programs such as Global Sustainability Science and Philosophy of Science and Ethics. Beyond academia, she contributes to local sustainability and animal welfare initiatives as assistant coordinator of the Party for the Animals (Partij voor de Dieren) working group in Utrecht.
