Michelle Slymon

Michelle Slymon is an Assistant Professor at St. John Fisher University's Wegmans School of Nursing. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from St. John Fisher University, an M.S. from the University of Rochester, and a B.S.N. from Marywood University. She is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Certified Lactation Counselor.

Her clinical expertise includes quality improvement initiatives for infant care, with research focusing on neonatal opioid exposure, trauma-informed pediatric care, and safe sleep practices. She led New York State's Infant Safe Sleep project through the Perinatal Quality Collaborative.

Slymon teaches graduate nursing courses including Foundations of Nursing Research and Healthcare Systems, Policy, and Law. Her doctoral work evaluated the Eat Sleep Console model for opioid-exposed newborns with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
