Michelle Rene Darnell

Michelle Rene Darnell is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Management and Organization at The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business. She serves as Director of the Tarriff Center for Business Ethics and Social Responsibility and the college’s Honor and Integrity Director. Her roles focus on fostering ethical leadership, responsible business practices, and stakeholder engagement through academic and co-curricular initiatives.

• Education: PhD in Philosophy (Purdue University, 2004), MA in Philosophy (Purdue University, 2001), BA in Biology and Philosophy (University of San Diego, 1998), and a PDBP in Management (University of Florida, 2008).

Her research and professional activities emphasize practical applications of business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and organizational behavior. She designs experiential learning programs to cultivate ethical decision-making skills and advises organizations on building ethical cultures. Dr. Darnell has over 20 years of experience in higher education and consults for businesses and governments on ethical challenges.
