Michelle Pace is a Professor in Global Studies at Roskilde University, Denmark, and Honorary Professor in Politics and International Studies at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her work focuses on European-Middle East and North African (MENA) relations, democratization in the MENA region, migration/refugee studies, and the intersection of memory, emotions, and international relations.

Her research explores liminality, ethnographic approaches, and the spatio-politics of health and violence in conflict zones like Gaza. She leads the H2020 SIRIUS project on migrant integration and the Wellcome Trust-funded Gaza health study.
Recent publications address EU legal obligations, far-right politics in Europe, and humanitarian law in Gaza. She is a co-editor of Mediterranean Politics and founder of the British International Studies Association’s Mediterranean Studies Working Group.
