Michelle Nahdee

Michele Nahdee is the Indigenous Legal Studies Coordinator at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law. She actively promotes Indigenous representation, reconciliation, and awareness through community initiatives, educational outreach, and advocacy. Her work focuses on advancing Indigenous legal frameworks, addressing systemic inequities, and supporting Indigenous communities through events like Orange Shirt Day and campaigns against violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

She collaborates with the Aboriginal Education Centre and partners in organizing cultural events, educational programs, and commemorative ceremonies. Her contributions include co-founding the Indigenous Legal Orders Institute, which explores Indigenous legal traditions, and participating in panels addressing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirit (MMIWG2S) issues. Her outreach efforts extend to youth engagement, such as at the Little NHL tournament, and mental health advocacy through initiatives like Campus Mental Health Day.

Mrs. Nahdee’s role integrates legal education with cultural preservation, emphasizing the importance of honoring ancestral lands and fostering inclusive environments in academia and beyond.
