Michelle LeBaron is a Professor of Law at the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. She holds degrees from Chapman University (B.A.), UBC (LL.B.), and Simon Fraser University (M.A.). Her research focuses on conflict transformation, the role of arts in reconciliation, and religious worldview conflicts. Projects include collaborations with artists in South Africa’s transitional justice efforts and the 'Dancing at the Crossroads' initiative with dancer Margie Gillis. She directs the UBC Program on Dispute Resolution and has held prestigious fellowships including the Wallenberg Fellowship (2015-2018) and Trinity College Fellowship (2016-2017).

Research interests span arts in collective memory, intercultural mediation, and symbolic reparations. Recent work includes analyzing the 'Muezzin Law' conflict and exploring how art fosters resilience in communities. Her books include Changing Our Worlds (2018) and The Choreography of Resolution (2013).
Key awards include the Wallenberg Fellowship and Trinity College Fellowship. Her Enacting Resilience project with Public Safety Canada uses arts to counter extremism. She advises globally on conflict resolution and arts in leadership development.
Professional affiliations include the Centre for Feminist Legal Studies. Her teaching covers dispute resolution theory, negotiation, and law’s future role in resolving conflicts.
