Michelle L. Johnson

Michelle L. Johnson is Associate Professor and Department Chair of Communication Studies at The College of Wooster. Her research examines communication dynamics in interpersonal relationships, with particular focus on social support during transitional periods and conflict management strategies in family and friend relationships.

Her scholarly work investigates how communication patterns affect stress management during college transitions and how nonverbal behaviors signal relationship status in public contexts. Johnson teaches courses including Interpersonal Communication, Small Group Communication, and Quantitative Research Methods.
