Michelle Kalnasy Powell

Michelle Kalnasy Powell, Ph.D., serves as both Assistant Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Associate Director of Training. She is affiliated with the College of Professional Psychology in the Department of Counseling Psychology, based in Chicago, IL.

Her clinical and research expertise spans relationship/couple therapy, perinatal mental health, intecultural relationships, LGBTQ+/Trans* affirming care, trauma, substance use, ethics in practice, and professional burnout. She has trained and supervised graduate students since 2016 and currently provides supervision and consultation to clinicians.

Dr. Kalnasy Powell is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in community mental health, college counseling, and private practice. She volunteers at the Chicago Women's Health Center, offering group supervision and training cohorts on specialized topics. Her professional memberships include the American Psychological Association and Illinois Psychological Association.
