Michelle Horner

Dr. Michelle Horner is an Adjunct Professor in the Forensic Psychology department at The Chicago School. She specializes in complex trauma treatment with advanced training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Component-Based Psychotherapy. Her clinical experience spans correctional settings, state forensic hospitals, and outpatient community mental health.

Her research examines cultural adaptations to trauma treatment, sociopolitical and intergenerational transmission of trauma, and the impact of gender/sexuality on identity development in traumatized populations. She maintains a private practice focused on adults with complex developmental trauma and dissociation.
