Michelle Craddock

MICHELLE CRADDOCK is a Lecturer at Edge Hill University within the Department of Applied Health and Social care, part of the Faculty of Health, Social Work and Wellbeing. She specializes in early evidenced-based psychological treatment for children and young people. Currently, she teaches on the Educational Mental Health Practitioners and Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) courses, focusing on theory, skills, assessment, engagement, and interventions. Michelle holds a BA (First-Class) in Teaching from Lancaster University (2015), an MSc in Psychology from the University of Chester (2017), and a PGCert in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment from the University of Manchester (2019). She is pursuing BABCP fellowship status at Edge Hill.

Her research explores the interplay between mental health and academic attainment, emphasizing whole-school approaches, creative therapy methods, and positive psychology. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education. Michelle’s prior roles include work with East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Services, Blackpool CAMHS, and The Link Psychology Co-Operative. She also brings over 10 years of educational experience, including curriculum coordination.

Michelle actively participates in the Children and Young People Research Network, focusing on collaborative interventions and measuring the impact of early mental health strategies. Her teaching responsibilities include leading modules on child/adolescent mental health foundations, assessment techniques, and therapeutic interventions.
