Michelle Beacock

MICHELLE BEACOCK is a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery Education, specializing in maternal and child health within the Nursing & Midwifery field. Her research focuses on breastfeeding, public health, and placentophagy. She has held an External Examiner role at Birmingham City University since December 2016.

• Education: PG Cert (Learning and Teaching in Higher Education) from Liverpool John Moores University (2018), BSc Midwifery from Edge Hill University (2012), MA Applied Social Work from Liverpool John Moores University (1999), and BSc Sociology from the University of Manchester (1995).

Her research interests include neonatal care, infectious disease management, and alternative therapies in postpartum health. Recent work addresses Group B Streptococcus infection in newborns and the effects of placentophagy.
