Michele K. McDaniel

Michele K. McDaniel is a Lecturer and Research Engagement & Scholarship Librarian at Eastern Illinois University's Booth Library, affiliated with the College of Education and Professional Studies. She coordinates the Ballenger Teachers Center and serves as a subject liaison for education departments.

• Education: B.A. in English with Latin minor from Calvin College, M.S. in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Her research focuses on education and library science, with specific interests in diversity in educational resources and teacher librarianship. Her 2017 work on Latin and Renaissance roots demonstrates interdisciplinary engagement with classical studies and cultural history.

Prior to her current role, she worked as a teacher librarian in the Charleston Community Unit School District No. 1 for four years, maintaining collections and teaching at elementary schools including Carl Sandburg and Mark Twain Elementary.
