Dr. Michele Grigolo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Nottingham Trent University's School of Social Sciences. He specializes in political and urban sociology, with a focus on human rights, cities, and urban governance. His roles include coordinating study exchanges and contributing to the Research Ethics Committee. He co-leads the Research Group Cities and Community, exploring human rights in urban contexts.
Grigolo holds a PhD from the European University Institute and prior experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Coimbra’s Centre for Social Studies. His research bridges theoretical and empirical work on human rights cities, examining how local governments implement rights-based policies. Notable projects include a study on children’s right to clothing in Nottingham with Sharewear Clothing Scheme, and his monograph The Human Rights City (2019).
