About
Michele B. Price is an Associate Professor in the Division of Biological Sciences within the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics at the University of Washington Bothell. She specializes in entomology, with a focus on beetle systematics, particularly the families Endomychidae and Nitidulidae. Her teaching emphasizes the interplay between anatomy, physiology, and invertebrate diversity, creating inclusive, hands-on learning environments.
Her research integrates morphology, distribution analysis, and phylogenetics to study evolutionary and ecological processes shaping biodiversity. She actively involves students in fieldwork and laboratory research, particularly through projects examining invertebrate communities in the Pacific Northwest, such as the North Creek Wetlands and St. Edward State Park.
Dr. Price earned her Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. Prior to joining UW Bothell, she held teaching roles at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and Lewis-Clark State College. She is dedicated to fostering tactile, research-based education and advancing understanding of insect biodiversity.
