Dr hab. inż. Michał Michna is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines at Gdańsk University of Technology's Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering. He joined the university in 2004 and served as Deputy Head of Department from 2010 to 2015. His research spans electrical machines, piezoelectric actuators, and renewable energy systems, with a strong emphasis on industrial applications.
Research interests include:
- Design and modeling of transformers, generators, and motors
- Finite element analysis (FEM) for electromechanical systems
- Piezoelectric actuator technology
- Railway infrastructure diagnostics and IIoT monitoring
