Michał Lewartowicz

Michał Lewartowicz is a Polish guitarist, composer, and educator currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Jazz and Popular Music within the Faculty of Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. He is also a faculty member teaching guitar at the Secondary Music School II degree named after Tadeusz Szeligowski in Lublin.

• Education: Graduate of Secondary Music School II in Lublin (double bass), Post-Secondary Jazz School named after Henryk Majewski in Warsaw (jazz guitar), Pedagogical Studies specialization as Cultural Animator and Manager at UMCS, and Master's in Jazz & Stage Music at UMCS and Jazz & Popular Music at Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.

His professional work centers on jazz and popular music performance, composition, and music education. As a performer, he has participated in numerous national and international festivals, including Jazzda, Krokus Jazz Festival, and Oland Celtic Irish Music Festival.

Scientific Awards:

• Twice laureate of the individual award at the "Europejskie Integracje Muzyczne" Jazz Contest.

He leads the Michał Lewartowicz Quartet (released "Inspirations", 2021), co-founded the guitar duet Cuatro Manos (released "Way Home", 2023), and contributes as a guitarist to groups like Lubelska Federacja Bardów and Gospel Rain.
