About
Dr. Michaela Schicho is a Researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI), specifically within the Department of Sustainability and Infrastructure Systems. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Strasbourg (2021), with prior studies at RWTH Aachen University (B.Sc.) and research stays at Lund University and AkzoNobel. Her work focuses on raw material criticality assessment, security of supply analysis, and evaluating raw material demands for emerging technologies. Notably, her doctoral research explored magnetic control over supramolecular polymerization.
- Education: B.Sc. Chemistry (RWTH Aachen), M.Sc. Chemistry (University of Strasbourg), PhD (University of Strasbourg)
Her research integrates interdisciplinary approaches to address sustainability challenges in infrastructure systems. Key areas include multi-objective optimization for resource management and analyzing supply risks for Germany's energy transition. She contributes to projects like RESUME, which examines recycling potentials and critical resources' impact on energy systems.
