Dr. Michaela Lerch is a Research Fellow at Griffith University, affiliated with the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS). Her research focuses on identifying contaminants of emerging concern (CEC) in Antarctic media, including air and seawater, through the international project "Uncovering Antarctica’s Secret Chemical Voyagers for Expedited Regulations".
Her expertise lies in analytical chemistry and PFAS characterization, particularly in food contact materials and environmental samples. She employs advanced techniques like LC-HRMS (Orbitrap, QToF) and LC-MS/MS (QqQ) for chemical analysis.
This project is supported by the ARC Discovery Project grant, reflecting her collaborative work with institutions such as the University of Queensland, NILU, and Environment Canada.
