Michael Yellow Bird

Michael Yellow Bird is a Professor and Dean at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Social Work. An enrolled member of the MHA Nation, his research examines colonization impacts, decolonization methods, neurodecolonization, and Indigenous mindfulness practices.

He founded the Centre for Mindful Decolonization and Reconciliation. His extensive publications explore decolonial frameworks in social work, including award-winning books like Decolonizing Social Work (2014 Choice Outstanding Title).
