Associate Professor Michael Wise holds a joint appointment in The University of Western Australia's School of Physics, Maths and Computing (Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering). He completed a double degree in Engineering and Arts, followed by a PhD in Electrical Engineering at UNSW. His career includes roles at University of Technology Sydney and University of Sydney, before shifting to bioinformatics research. Since 2004, he has focused on microbial informatics, computational biology, and research ethics. Current projects emphasize applying computational methods to understand microbial life.
