Michael Wirth

Michael Wirth serves as Associate Professor in the Art, Design & Music Department of Queens University of Charlotte's College of Arts & Sciences, holding an M.F.A. in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design and a B.F.A. in Digital Art and Design from Long Island University.

His creative research centers on technology-driven art forms including Digital Art, Media Art, and Interactive Design, with significant works exhibited internationally at venues such as Rockefeller Center, Chelsea Art Gallery (New York), Split New Media Festival (Croatia), and WRO Wroclaw Media Art Biennale (Poland).

Key achievements include:

• Best Short award at Ed Wood film festival (2004)
• Official Selections at Ed Wood film festival (2004) and DigIt New Media Fest (2005)

Wirth co-developed the Dance.Draw project funded by a $250,000 NSF Creative IT grant (2009) and maintains an active freelance design practice spanning over a decade with clients including Siemens Building Technologies, Anheuser Busch, John F. Kennedy Center, and ESPN-Outdoors, demonstrating sustained professional engagement across academic and commercial domains.
