Michael Wininger

Michael Wininger is an Assistant Professor Adjunct in the Department of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health. His academic appointment spans multiple departments and institutions, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching.

Dr. Wininger's educational background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University (2009), a BS in Physics from the University of Connecticut (2003), and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut (2003). His postdoctoral training includes a Post-Doctoral Researcher position at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) (2011) and a Visiting Scientist position at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (2009).

His primary research interests focus on device data stream analysis, applied algorithmics, and clinical trial design and operation. Wininger's work spans multiple domains including biostatistics, public health data science, cardiovascular research, nutrition and hydration studies, and prosthetics engineering.
