Michael D. White is Professor in the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State University and Associate Director of ASU’s Center for Violence Prevention and Community Safety. He co-directs training for the U.S. Department of Justice Body-Worn Camera Program. His research examines police technology adoption, use-of-force outcomes, and de-escalation training effectiveness.
Recent studies include randomized trials on body-worn camera impacts in correctional settings, AI analysis of police footage, and de-escalation training efficacy. Publications appear in leading journals including Criminology and Justice Quarterly. He has testified before the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
