Dr. Michael Weedon is a Professor at the University of Exeter's Clinical and Biomedical Sciences department, specializing in the genetics of diabetes and related traits. His work focuses on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for Type 2 diabetes and whole genome sequencing to identify rare mutations in familial diabetes, particularly MODY. He is affiliated with the Genetics of Complex Traits Group and the Monogenic Diabetes Research Team, while also teaching Bioinformatics modules on the Genomics Medicine MSc program.
