Michael Wayne is a Professor of Clarinet at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, since 2019. He has held faculty positions at the New England Conservatory of Music, Tanglewood Music Center, National Orchestral Institute, and served as a visiting professor at Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
His performance career includes roles with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Kansas City Symphony, and participation in festivals like Grand Teton, Verbier, and Music Academy of the West. He premiered Michael Daugherty’s Brooklyn Bridge at Carnegie Hall and contributed to a Grammy-winning Shostakovich symphony cycle.
