Michael Waldstein

Michael Waldstein is a Professor of Theology at Ave Maria University. Previously, he served as founding president of the International Theological Institute in Austria and taught at the University of Notre Dame. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas, a Licentiate in Scripture from Pontificium Institutum Biblicum, and a Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from Harvard Divinity School. His research centers on theological anthropology, scripture interpretation, and Catholic social teaching.

Notable contributions include his authoritative translation of Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body. Awards include his appointment as a peritus (expert) for the 2008 Synod of Bishops and service on the Pontifical Council for the Family.
