Michael Trocchia is an Instructor of Philosophy at James Madison University (part-time), affiliated with the Department of Philosophy & Religion in the College of Arts & Letters. He holds a B.A. from JMU and an M.A. from Temple University. His research focuses on philosophy of literature, art, language, metaphysics, existentialism, and ancient philosophy. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy & Literature, Existentialism, and Critical Thinking.
Recent awards include the 2023 Provost Award for Excellence in Part-Time Teaching and the 2023 Community Service-Learning Award. His scholarly work combines philosophical inquiry with creative writing, evident in publications like Poetry International Online and The Southern Poetry Anthology: Virginia.
