Dr. Michael Traugh is a Professor of Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU), serving since 2003. He holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and has held roles such as Interim Dean of the School of Education and Professional Studies (2016), Associate Professor (2005–2009), and Assistant Professor (2003–2005). Prior to academia, he served in K-12 education as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and administrator in Galion City Schools and Columbus Public Schools.
His expertise spans program evaluation, grant management, and educational policy. He has evaluated numerous state and federal grants, including STEM pathways, literacy initiatives, and history education programs. Traugh is actively involved in professional organizations like Phi Delta Kappa, Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA), and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA). He served as a Site Visitor for the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools Program and held leadership roles in local organizations such as the Galion Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club.
