Michael Thomas Marr

Michael Thomas Marr is an Associate Professor of Biology at Brandeis University, affiliated with the Rosenstiel Basic Medical Sciences Research Center. His research focuses on understanding how animal cells respond to developmental and environmental signals through changes in gene expression and protein synthesis.

Dr. Marr's laboratory employs molecular genetic techniques (RNAi, CRISPR/cas9, transgenics) and biochemical approaches (protein purification, in vitro reconstitution assays) to investigate stress response mechanisms and aging-related processes, using mammalian cells and Drosophila as primary model systems.

His research has been recognized with prestigious awards including:
