Dr. Rogers' scholarship centers on civic education, political thought history, and democratic theory, with current NEH-funded research analyzing Anti-Federalist critiques of the Electoral College. His work consistently examines institutional failures in civic preparation and historical patterns in democratic engagement.
Publication analysis reveals sustained focus on civic education since 2007, evolving from historical meta-analyses (2015) to contemporary pedagogical solutions (2021-2023). Recent work emphasizes undergraduate research integration and career-oriented curriculum design within political science programs.
Dr. Rogers actively mentors students through research assistantships documented in his 2023 publication and supervises independent studies/internships. His NEH grant represents a landmark achievement for Arkansas Tech University, securing substantial external funding for historical-political research after a 40-year institutional hiatus in such awards.
