Michael T. Matraia, J.D., M.S., C.P.A., is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Pre-Law Advisor at Assumption University. He holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School (1996), an M.S. from the University of Connecticut (2011), and a B.A. from Assumption College (1990). As a licensed CPA and attorney, he brings professional expertise to his teaching of auditing, business law, and corporate governance courses.
His research addresses audit committee effectiveness, corporate compliance, and legal interpretations of financial regulations. He has presented at numerous professional conferences including the American Accounting Association and Institute of Internal Auditors.
